How can you tell when you are holding yourself back and how do you turn the situation around?
We have many excuses. The most common reason for not achieving our goals is lack of self-confidence and a low self-esteem/self-concept.
Self-concept is a combination of thoughts, experiences and beliefs. If these are positive, we have a good opinion of our actions and abilities.
Our performance is also based on our self-concept. If we want to raise our performance, we first have to raise our self-concept – the belief we have of our ability or skill in that area.
Low belief leads to lack of confidence, which leads to failing to achieve the desired outcome.
A healthy self-concept is the basis of all personal success.
